I'm disappointed. I tried using this kit twice. The first time, still figuring it out. The second time I knew more going into it, and they lasted a day. I gave this a 2 for the colors and what the kit comes with, but be prepared to spend at least an hour doing your nails. Make sure you also buy a UV light If you don't already have one..The one nail broke a day later. The forms are cool, but when you press down on your nail, the color doesn't stay in place and it would not be easy to add a second coat if needed. It's difficult to get the right balance of the gel onto the form because you need more towards the tip. If you don't, your nail is not covered fully and leaves a gap on the middle/tip of the nail. Yes, it is cheaper than going to the nail salon, but how much is your time worth, especially if your nails don't last long. It also took weeks to get to me. I will not be using this product again.

So I've been doing my own nails at home for a few years now with dip powder and had seen advertisements about polygel nails and how easy it is to use so I kept revisiting the idea of trying it out.
I started using the Modelones gel polish a few months ago and liked the quality. With that being said I decided to try out the polygel method ,and what better way to check it out than with a product I already like ? . The product is pretty sticky so try to avoid skin contact (but will come off with alcohol) I used alcohol instead of the slip solution just because I've watched numerous videos on polygel tutorials and found that a lot of nail techs work with it and it worked well to manipulate the product.
Being that it was my first time using polygel they did come out a little on the thin side so I dipped them once in my dip powder and they still have the thin natural look I was going for but feel sturdy enough for me to do my daily tasks without feeling like the slightest thing could cause them to break.

Over all I liked the method and Modelones product (didn't disappoint) and will continue to do my nails this way. And will definitely be looking into getting some different colors ?.

Very impressed with the model ones poly gel. I've only ever used a makartt polygel kit prior to trying this, and it was MUCH harder to get a nice result. The gel iteself in this kit is much easier to work with and manipulate, its self leveling and seems to cure much nicer. Pictures provided are right after doing a fill, (ignore the yellowish tint, it's more of a nude colored polygel that's hard to photograph and this is without polish or topcoat) I had the nails on for three weeks with no breaks, and very little lifting. The minimal lifting was easily fixed with an efile and a little more base coat and polygel to cover when doing the fill. I am a beginner with polygel and I think I was able to get a decent result with this kit. NOTE: The slip solution included seems like a small bottle, but you actually need to use a lot less than you would think when working with it. If the polygel seems too...wet? You're probably using too much slip. Dab the brush a bit on a paper towel. You'll see some excess moisture start pooling around the gel as well, when you're using too much. Bottom line, very happy with model ones. Excited to try out some other products in their line.

Let me start with I am OBSESSED with beautiful natural looking nails. I also hate damaging my own. Now - I loved the poly gel! I've tried EVERYTHING! Powder dip, regular acrylic, paste ons. Everything. Only this has lasted two+ weeks. This was my third try. First two rounds here is what I learned:
1. Try several forms. Not just the ones in this kit. Some forms fit better than these.
2. Do not lay it over too close to your cuticle.
3. Always brush off the excess before you cure. Any left over on the skin or cuticle will cause lifting.
4.use nail foils under your nail before laying the poly form. This will prevent excess under nail.
5. Use a drill. A light bit to clean up nail before.
6.A primer before base
7. Once cure use rougher drill bit to soften the over flow edge close to cuticle
8. Use drill bit to shave under nail to thin out and even up for a natural look and feel.
9. If your feeling fancy - add nail art! As you form with clearer colors. Or after form with a thick top coat for darker ones.
Oh - also don't use too much forming liquid, it will cause bubbles. And you really don't need much, this gel is very pliable.

And that's all! If you don't get off your nail bed - live lift free until you want to refill. Which you can do with a brush and more poly gel for a quick do or soak off your poly for a new full set design.

Love this kit! I ordered a different one from another brand and it was too hard to use and saw the reviews of this one and gave it a try. Love the thickness and the natural dual forms are the best for my nail shape. The colors are beautiful! Can't wait to do more of my nails, at home.
